Extension and refurbishment to Protected Structure in Anne street Clonmel

Extension and refurbishment to Protected Structure in Anne street Clonmel

Planning Permission granted April 2015! Next stop out to tender!

This is my second project in this street of my hometown of Clonmel. Anne Street is, in my opinion, the most beautiful street in Ireland. Dating from 1822, it is a completely intact urban set-piece, a cul-de-sac with mirrored elevations of Georgian terraces. The crossroads at the east end of the street contains Old St. Mary’s Church, so the ensemble probably hasn’t changed much in 190 years.

I previously got to work here on the south side of the street, doing a garden room extension and some alterations. Here is a snapshot of what we achieved that time;

This time, the site is north facing, and will perform a different role, a kitchen and utility/w.c. will be accommodated. This is what it will look like so far.

We are also renovating most of the existing house too, and that will require appropriate materials for a solid wall building and a protected structure.
